NUS Students
Dear fellow students,
Welcome back to Semester 2! Hope the first week of school went well for you and that you had a restful holiday over the winter break. Semester 2 is often when many clubs and societies have a packed line-up of activities planned throughout these seventeen weeks before summer, so do keep a look out for them. Amidst your New Year’s goals setting, I encourage you to try out something new this semester!
In support of this aim, I want to share about the upcoming events and available resources the Union works to provide for students and student organisations.
1. Events and Resources for Students
Events, Giveaways and Carnivals!
NUSSU Welfare Projects, a subcommittee under the NUSSU Welfare Cell, has in store an array of activities aimed at promoting physical, mental and social wellbeing this semester. Ranging from treasure hunts, to timely midterm welfare and wellness workshops, these activities offer free opportunities for students to unwind, relax and meet new friends. You can keep yourself updated on when these activities take place by following the NUSSU Instagram page (@mynussu) and the NUSSU Welfare Instagram page (@nussuwelfare).
Similarly, NUSSU Business Committee (BIZCOM), a subcommittee under the NUSSU External Cell, will host a series of online giveaways as they engage with sponsors to provide us with freebies. Look out for their events by following their Instagram page (@nussubizcom).
NUSSU Student Life Cell Recruitment
If you’re looking for a way to spend your summer meaningfully, consider the open roles at the Student Life Cell! Recruitment for Union Camp and Supernova – some of the largest interfaculty events in NUS, are still open. These committees are an excellent way to make new friends over the summer, while contributing back towards a vibrant student life for freshmen and undergraduates alike. Learn more about the open roles here and apply at: https://tinyurl.com/47thslcrecruitment.
NUSSU Students’ Resilience Fund
On another front, we also recognise the increasing anxieties around career and employment in the current landscape. While we continue to engage the relevant school offices for longer term policy proposals and support, the Union currently offers support for students looking to upskill themselves through online courses! You may receive up to $400 in reimbursement for certifications obtained via online courses taken between 1 Jan 2026 and 31 August 2026. Applications for the Resilience fund will open on 2 February 2026. Start working on your online courses now and keep a look out for more details when it opens by visiting our LinkTree!
2. Resources for Student Organisations
NUSSU Council Funding
To encourage a spirit of community vibrancy and student empowerment, the NUSSU Council Funding offers up to $1500 for student-led initiatives which benefit the NUS community at large. Our partnership with NUSOne this year allows us to support even more student projects. Applications for Council Funding are open now until 31 August 2026. For more details on the application process and terms, please visit: NUSSU Council Funding.
NUSSU Space Credits Fund
In collaboration with the Office of the Provost (PVO), the NUSSU Space Credits Fund is an initiative which seeks to alleviate the financial burden of venue booking within school compounds, for approved activities organised by registered student groups. Applications for Space Credits are open now until 31 August 2026. For more details on the application process and terms, please visit: NUSSU Space Credits.
NUS Sustainability Guide
In line with the Campus Sustainability Roadmap 2030, the NUS Sustainability Guide for Student-Led Events is the first university-wide, comprehensive resource designed for student organisations. Beginning from conversations between NUSSU and OSA in mid-2025, the guide offers practical tips on sustainable event planning and includes an actionable checklist for project directors to track the sustainability of their events. Please refer to the guide here: https://nus.edu/sustainability-guide.
Zoom Premium Licensing
The NUSSU Licensed Zoom Accounts for NUS Student Leaders Scheme allows student groups to access Zoom Premium for their key appointment holders. For more details on the application process and terms, please visit: https://forms.office.com/r/2454kjtgbB?origin=lprLink.
Adobe Creative Cloud Licensing
The NUSSU Adobe Creative Cloud Licensing scheme allows NUS students to access the Adobe suite of services. Student leaders of registered student groups and organisations can apply for a semester-long licence, while all other undergraduates can apply for the license for a maximum of two months. To view the terms of application and/or apply, please visit: https://forms.office.com/r/2454kjtgbB?origin=lprLink.

3. Closing
Finally, to all our athletes competing in the Inter-Hall Games (IHG), Inter-College Games (ICG) and Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic (IVP) Games, I wish you all the best as you compete valiantly and safely in your competitions!
To everyone, all the best for the semester – the Union is here to support you!
